One of the joys of running our gallery is assisting and guiding clients in curating their collections. As the client’s expertise and tastes grows and changes and the collection evolves we enjoy adding and transitioning works. We are thrilled to offer for sale an important carefully curated private collection assembled over 50 years by Joseph and Rosalie Segal of Vancouver. Their collection of European and Victorian 19th and early 20th century works is exceptional and contains important paintings by major artists painstakingly chosen and enjoyed in their Vancouver home.
MILDRED VALLEY THORNTON

Uno Langmann is thrilled to present an exhibition showcasing the remarkable artworks of Mildred Valley Thornton. Born in 1890, Mildred Valley Thornton gained renown for her artistic portrayal of First Nations communities across Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia. Her work encompassed portraits, landscapes, mythological, and historical subjects, capturing the essence of Indigenous culture and traditions. Thornton's dedication to preserving vanishing Indigenous cultures led her to travel extensively, often to remote regions, where she meticulously documented community life through her vibrant paintings.

Uno Langmann is excited to announce an upcoming exhibition highlighting the Northwest Coast collection of entrepreneur and author Phil Nuytten with works by Robert Davidson, Beau Dick, Ellen Neel, Bill Holm, John Livingston, Dorothy Grant, Henry Hunt and more.
The exhibition will also showcase a rare collection of works by Charlie James, Mungo Martin, Ellen Neel that Phil Nuytten collected over a lifetime, before being sent to museums. This exhibition offers visitors a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the vibrant tapestry of indigenous artistry curated by Phil Nuytten.

Vantore. The exhibition contains some of the artist's finest works. This collection of paintings comes from years of selective purchases throughout Canada and Europe and represents a wide spectrum of his work in oils. The gallery held the first Vantore exhibition in 1991 and has had overwhelming response; his works are represented in collections throughout North America and Europe.

An exceptional, rarely seen in Vancouver, selection of traditional style ink paintings by two leading Chinese contemporary artists available for collection This group of paintings was last exhibited in 1988 at The Westin Bayshore Hotel, Vancouver as a special cultural exchange between the provinces of Shaanxi and British Columbia. The exhibition was sponsored by BCTV and coordinated in association with the Premier of Shaanxi Province, who put forth Liu Wenxi and Xu Yisheng as their most respected artists.
