European automaton birdcage with mechanical bird, the birdcage decorated with a small bird perched inside a cage on a swing, the metal cage decorated with gilding and red enamel. When wound the lid inside the cage opens and a bird pops up, wings flap, tail moves and sings a song. Drawer slides out for key storage and winding. Early 20th century, with key (later).
