Commode Louis XV A 12 Tiroirs
Bois de violette and satine gilt bronze mounted commode in the Louis XV style. The twelve drawer cabinet with one trick drawer, surmounted by a fleur de pecher marble top, signed 'F. Linke' to the top right hand corner in the bronze, the lockplates marked 'C. Linke, Paris' (Clement Linke) and numbered '1057'. The key is also original and numbered '1057'.
The number 1057 matched the index number recorded in the Linke Index for a commode of this description (see correspondence with Christopher Payne the author of the book on Francois Linke).
